Question:

Books, please! (I'm done the Twilight series...)?

Okay, well, I'm kinda stuck for books. I like the Twilight series but I am sick of reading teen romances except for Gossip Girl. Haha. I'm trying to get into less A-List, teen Meg Cabot, etc and into a more diverse book repetoire.

I don't like sci-fi, fantasy, or super intense murder mystery. I've read a lot of Danielle Steele and Nora Roberts but realized that they are all the same and are getting super boring.

I like a little bit of romance, suspense. Right now, I'm reading Nineteen Minutes by Jodi Picoult and I love it! I am going to read her other books as well but want a larger repetoire.

I loved Pride and Prejudice and all Jane Austen books, Wuthering Heights, and Jane Eyre, but I can't get into any other Victorian language books. I am not big on "classics" (ie. To Kill a Mockingbird, Animal Farm) either.

I loooooooved The Other Boleyn Girl and Girl With A Pearl Earring.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance!

  1. If you enjoyed The Other Boleyn Girl, I would recommend some of Phillipa Gregory's other books such as The Boleyn Inheritance, The Constant Princess, The Virgin's Lover, and The Queen's Fool.  I would also recommend the historical fiction of Carolly Erickson such as The Hidden Diary of Marie Antoinette or The Last Wife of Henry VIII.

    Happy reading!

  2. Freya North has a great series but they may be a bit older than what your looking for:

    Cat

    Fen

    Pip

    Chloe

    Polly

    Sally

There all about the girls looking for love, there not a complete series per-say theres no first book, but at some point or another the characters "bump" into each other (except Cat, Fen and Pip who are sisters!)

  3. 1. god shaped hole

2, How to kill a rockstar

    both by tiffany debartollo

    both amazing

  4. the warriors books (:

it starts with warriors: into the wild

    & theres looooooads that follow

including some manga ones :]] about five.

    there's 3 series' with about 6/7/8 books.

  5. I'm in your situation. Just finished the twilight saga and don't know what to read. I've enjoyed:

    -The Lovely Bones

    -Harry Potter :p

-The Host (also by Stephanie Meyer)

What you should do is go to your local book store and ask someone who workd their to suggest some books based on what you have read. Its worked for me :)

    The Great Gatsby (http://www.worldcat.org/oclc/32311616&re...

Agnes Grey by Anne Bronte (http://www.worldcat.org/oclc/213853466&r...

The Thirteenth Tale by Diane Setterfield

    Hope this helps.  Happy Reading!

  9. Anne Rice. Anything by her, especially The Vampire Chronicles. Suspense, Romance, and Vampires! How could you go wrong? She's also written a New Vampire Chronicles that's based on the life stories of the other vampires that play large parts in The Vampire Chronicles, which is mostly the life and story of Lestat. Kinda mainstream, as they did make books 1 and 3 (Interview with the Vampire & Queen of the Damned) into major motion pictures, but the books are so incredibly better that I absolutely refuse to ever watch the movies again. Ever.

And Harry Potter is always a good choice. Don't watch the movies if at all possible before reading.

And if you're willing to go for the long haul, read The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings. veeeeeeeery long and somewhat overly descriptive, but a very good read.

Of my options for you, only the first 3 or 4 Harry Potter's would I classify as "teen"
