Question:

Books about ethnic differences?

I'm interested in reading about physical ethnic and/or racial differences. For example, a short upper lip is a Scottish trait. I think it is fascinating but I cannot find any books like this and I've searched far and wide. Please help!

  1. It's probably because people are too afraid to be politically incorrect, to publish much on that!

  2. You may have a bit of a hard time finding much, especially anything recent.

Our modern tendency towards political correctness has made pointing out physical (let alone cultural) trends in groups as being inherently racist.  This paranoia is especially evident when trying to discuss genetic diseases of any kind.  I find it annoying at times, because simply collecting such knowledge is not racist in itself.  It does allow some people to develop fear of Hitler style "Master Race complexes and others may use the information in ways that promote racism, but I am still in favour of collecting such data.  It does not make me or you racist because we have such views.  Yet we may be judged simply for our curiosity or interest, no matter how professional.

Try online at waterstones.co.uk though.  They have had such books in the past.
