  1. The Exchange Student Survival Kit, by Bettina Hansel, which Baconator has already linked to above, is the best book I've ever found about high school exchange.  There don't seem to be many books about the subject.  Your best bet, besides that book, is to check out the websites for AFS, YFU and Rotary, which all have good resources for exchange students, even if you aren't participating in their program.

    AFS: http://www.afs.org

    YFU: http://www.yfu.org

    Rotary: http://www.rotary.org/en/StudentsAndYout...

  2. It is unclear from your question what you are looking for - books about foreign exchange - contacts for making a foreign exchange - books for exchange students to read?

I was a foreign exchange student in high school - I have nothing but great memories.  True, I was homesick at the time - but I never admitted to anyone - and I got over it - and that is the last thing I remember when I think about the experience.  I still have contact with friends and exchange family from the time - and that was over 30 years ago.

Here is a good resource - it is a company that has been arranging foreign exchange programs for 90 years:

I found this book about being an exchange student on Amazon:

    http://www.amazon.com/Exchange-Student-S...

Here is a book about being a host family:

    http://www.amazon.com/Host-Family-Handbo...

    http://www.amazon.com/Host-Family-Surviv...

Here is a book about the AFS program I gave the link for above:

  3. man don't use books use google. it's way more updated, and you can find seriously everything. just search exchange programs or whatever you want and it's all right there in 0.142 seconds.

example: i just googled "study abroad high school" and got 711,000 hits in 0.18 seconds. you can do it i believe in you!

  4. Another resource for you would be the online exchange student community at http://www.exchangestudentworld.com/

They have a lot of good stuff posted, plus you can write in and ask questions.
