  1. Most books on disability tend to be categorised by different disabilities. Perhaps a bit more detail about what disability you want to research would help.

  2. For books, Amazon.com or google to search for them.  I don't think anything beats experience, so maybe go volunteer at a school, and talk to the parents.  Physical annectdotes are a little more real than reading a book.

  3. Would help if you'd say what kind of disability, but I'll give you a couple that could fit:

Kate's Journey by Kate Adamson--woman in her 30s is a personal trainer; has serious brain stem stroke and is nearly written off by med system. Husband insists on proper treatment for her. Ultimately she recovers (has a brace for her leg) and becomes an author and motivational speaker.

The Story of My Life by Helen Keller--"Miracle Worker" is an accurate depiction of the young Helen's life--really blind, deaf, and some difficulty speaking as a result, but what she achieved!

  4. Search amazon
