Can someone please tell me how to do a boot scan with NAV? I have Windows XP and want to remove malware that NAV is not recognizing.

  1. I don't believe you can do a boot-time scan with NAV; I believe you'll have to settle for running the scan in safe mode.

How to start in safe mode: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorial...

BUT... if you think that you have malware that NAV isn't recognizing, I would suggest running a full system scan with Malwarebytes Anti-Malware (free version), and perhaps an online scan or two:

    > Malwarebytes Anti-Malware: http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php

    > ESET Online Scanner: http://www.eset.com/onlinescan/

    > Bitdefender Online Scan: http://www.bitdefender.com/scan8/ie.html

    > Trend Micro Housecall: http://housecall.trendmicro.com/

*** All of the above, including the online scans, fix what they find for free; no catches, no strings, no Bull...

Edit: You can install Avast and disable its real-time protections to run it as an on-demand scanner... but if you are going to do that, I'd just axe the Norton and keep the Avast ;-)
