Boot camp and Child Support...?

The question is. . .If a child with divorced parents goes to boot camp or stays in any juvenile facility, where does the child support go? Does the guardian still collect child support money or what?

  1. The guardian collects it, but if he is old enough to go to boot camp then he is old enough that support would stop!


  2. Yes they still collect support.  

  3. Yes the gardian gets the support still because it is assumed that this parent is paying  

  4. In Texas, Child support is paid to the Texas Attorney General's Office and then dispersed to the court appointed guardian. No provision is made as to where the child is actually domiciled.

  5. According to what I have been told. Even if the child moves in with the non custodial parent for a certain amount of time, he/she still has to pay child support to the custodial parent.  It pertains to the theory that the custodial parent still has to pay for shelter, electicity and food even while that child is away.
