I have a freshly assembled PC with no hardware problems(obviously it's my first time). After reading couple articles online, I have more confusions now than before. I have couple questions:

1. In order to install window XP, all I need is CD-ROM rite? Why so many articles that I read tells me that I need floppy to boot?

2. I currently don't have DOS, do I have to boot to DOS before installing window XP?

3. I'm cheap and don't want to buy the window XP CD, and I already found couple window XP seed on isohunt. If I download them and burn on CD would that be the boot CD for my newly assembled PC?

4. If what I believed was wrong from Question 3, can you provide me a detailed answer to get the right CD? (or the correct process for me to install window xp)

first you need xp cd ,floopy not really necessary .set on your bios

boot from cd that it. the floopy you can use it as a boot source

in case your cd drive is no able to do the job.

secondly i think the boot in your case will be staight away i ;ean

you do not need to boot to DOS.

third yeah you can get the xp from the torrent ,and it could do the
