Although the Aquitaine club has managed to hold on to its star striker, the Frenchman could still leave Stade Chaban Delmas when the winter transfer window opens
Back in July this year, FC Girondins de Bordeaux striker, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Yoan-Gouffran-c37412 expressed his desire to seek a new challenge in the future. The 26-year-old signed for Bordeaux in the summer of 2008 from Stade Malherbe de Caen and after four years at the Delmas,
is still itching for a new challenge.
“I’m 26-years-old, it’s been four years since I’ve been here. Cleary, time to leave, to discover something else has perhaps come. If I receive a good offer from abroad, why not?”
Those statements made back in July casted a lot of doubt in the player’s future at Bordeaux. And, the statements were closely monitored by English Premier League side Aston Villa FC in the last three days of the summer transfer window.
In the end, Gouffran stayed with Les Girondins. However, the former Caen man might not finish the current campaign with Francois Gillot and co. L’Equipe claims that the player’s interest in a move abroad could reignite when the winter transfer window opens
in January next years.
In addition to Aston Villa, Fulham and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Everton-c13019 are also interested in the native of Villeneuve-Saint-Georges. Although no offer has been made yet, Gouffran’s contractual means that the club might consider selling the player in January.
Under contract at Bordeaux until June 2013, Gouffran chosen not to sign a contract extension which means that coach http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Francis-c13946 Gillot might risk losing the player for nothing come the summer transfer window next year.
In order to recuperate some cash for the player, Bordeaux might consider selling the player in January. A departure in the middle of the season would certainly not be a bad decision as the club is bound to get a few extra bucks for a player who has been
an integral part of the team since joining them back in 2008.
Furthermore, the club will not deny the chance of having extra cash to conduct their activity in the next transfer window.
