The Aquitaine club are now looking to trim down the squad and makes some big-scale changes at the club when the summer transfer window opens
On the columns of L’Equipe, Jean-Louis Triaud, the president of FC Girondins de Bordeaux said that it is important for the club to clean up the accounts.
Francis Gillot, the coach, also agrees with the president and says that there are a few players he doues not want to keep as they are a hurdle in the way of the younger players.
“I think we had four or five players I did not like. They bar the way for the youngsters and it can become a problem for the club. there are ten players who stand and do not play well. They want to be on the field and I hope we will rebalance the squad next
season.”

The aforementioned players are likely to be transfer listed but the club will also retain the services of a few players who have done well for the club this season.
Yoann Gouffran, Benoit Tremoulinas, Jussie and Jaroslav Plasil have attracted interest from other clubs but Bordeaux are keen on holding on to them.

Young Maxime Poundje, Andre Polo, Evan Chevalier and Salif Sane have not been given enough opportunities to prove their worth this season and Gillot is looking to change all that. These youngsters are considered as the best the club has produced in recent
years and are set to make their debuts.
An Argentine starlet in Valentin Vada is also expected to be given a chance. At the age of 17, the youngster will be carefully used by Gillot.
However, one can clearly see that Gillot is keen on putting his faith on the young academy players who would want to do well with the club.
