Bordeaux to bring Marouane Chamakh in the winter transfer window – report
Reports in French media suggest that struggling Ligue 1 outfit, FC Girondins de Bordeaux are considering bringing former striker http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Marouane-Chamakh-c24294 back to the Aquitaine club in the winter transfer window.
The Moroccan international is currently on the books of English Premier League side Arsenal FC whom he joined on a free transfer from Bordeaux in the summer of 2010. After making a great start to life at the London-based club, Marouane Chamakh has fallen
down in the pecking order and is finding it hard to get ample game time under Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger.
Frustrated at the lack of opportunities, the striker is itching for a move away from the Emirates in order to go to a club where he can get more opportunities.
Earlier this year, the 27-year-old striker admitted his love for Bordeaux and said “I am a Bordeaux”.
Reports in Le Parisien claim that L’Aqua et Marine are also keen on landing their former striker in the winter transfer window. Chamakh is also rumoured to be interested in a move back to his old club where he is still held in high esteem by both the club’s
hierarchy and the fans.
Currently, the great goalscoring form of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Robin-van-Persie-c31380 has restricted Chamakh to just cameo appearances for the Gunners and it has been suggested that Chamakh’s career at Arsenal will never grow if the trend continues.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is adamant that he will not let go of a player he had been following for a long time. “Marouane will not go anywhere. There is no problem with Chamakh. It is the competition with Van Persie who is in great form and justifies
his selection,” said Wenger while talking to the media a few months back.
However, a further lack of opportunities at http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 would certainly force Chamakh to put in a transfer or loan request. A loan option to Bordeaux would be a great one for Chamakh as the Moroccan knows a lot about the club where he played between 2003 and
2010.
Furthermore, a loan move to Bordeaux will do a world of good for Bordeaux coach http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Francis-c13946 Gillot who is clearly frustrated at his attacker’s lack of lethal touch in front of goal.
