Bordeaux to reignite interest in Mevlut Erdinç in the winter – Ligue 1 news
Reports in French media suggest that struggling Ligue 1 side FC Girondins de Bordeaux are looking to reignite their interest in Turkish international Mevlut Erdinç.
The striker is currently under contract at Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain but with reports suggesting PSG’s aim to spend even more money in the upcoming winter transfer window, Erdinç’s role at the club might become even more peripheral than it already
is.
After a poor start to the 2011/2012 Ligue 1 campaign, Bordeaux are in dire need of fresh faces in the side. After a Saturday night defeat at the hands of newly-promoted Dijon (2-0), Bordeaux have slipped down to 18th place in the Ligue 1 standings,
something fans are finding it hard to come to terms with.
The Turkish international has time and time expressed his desire to stay at the Parc des Princes but with PSG looking to bring in some top quality players among which a new striker is likely, Erdinc might consider leaving the Ile club in order to go to a
place where he can have regular game time.
The youngster has so far played nine Ligue 1 games for Antoine Kombouare’s men and with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Guillaume-Hoarau-c15332. The latter has also been linked with
a move away with rumours suggesting that either Manchester United striker http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Carlos-c8346 Tevez will join the club as soon as the transfer window opens.
However, Bordeaux have to fend off competition from the likes of Fenerbahce, Galatasaray and Hamburger in order to secure the services of a player who might never have a crucial role to play if he chooses to stay at Paris Saint-Germain.
Though under contract at the club until June 2014, a move away from the Parc des Princes appears likely as the club is also looking to make some room for any new players arriving at the club.
The 24-year-old’s prospects of joining Bordeaux might be slim as the club’s current league position makes it difficult for players to be attracted by a club that has seen its fortunes turned for the worse in recent months.
