Question:

Border Patrol Agent Info?

Hey, I applied for the border patrol, and passed the entrance exam, now I'm waiting to be contacted. I've never talked to anyone from the border patrol except the call that told me my test date. Any border patrol agents that have advice or motivation for me in this waiting period? Right now I'm wiring houses for a job and its getting old, can't wait for some excitement! By the way I saw pictures of people riding four wheelers, is that common? I used to go riding all the time and that would be awesome to do that as part of your job..

  1. Like I told someone else on this same question.  Go to:

This cite will give you all the information you will ever need.

    START RUNNING!!!!!  ALOT!!!!!

  2. Start jogging now.  They will run your butt off at the academy.  Do yourself a favor and try to get in shape now.

They'll teach you spanish at the academy, PROPER spanish.  So if you know tex-mex, spangish, or any non-proper Spanish ... it is not going to help you.

My interview was kind of weird.  They had one senior agent and one regular agent in a room with me.  They went over my application and resume and basically tried to punch holes in why I was there.  I had a 3.5 GPA with my bachelor's degree in criminology and one of them asked "what? you couldn't make 4.0?"  It reminded me of a very cheesy 'bad cop/good cop' routine for interrogating people.  I didn't want to laugh and blow the interview, but I thought it was a pretty ridiculous set-up.

It takes 6-8 months....minimum, and don get your hopes up too hi about the 4 wheelers...you're either be in a car or on FOOT.  Especially when you're new.  The pictures is to get people to sign up.  Kind of like a commercial.
