Borderlands 2 has hours of game-play in store for gamers – Video Games Update
Gearbox has announced that Gamers will find a nice surprise when they start a second play-through of Borderlands 2 after completing the game once.
In an interview with Official Xbox Magazine (OXM) Borderlands 2 Art Director, Jeramy Cooke, has revealed that the second play-through of Borderlands 2 will feature new enemies and some new game mechanics not found in the first run.
This is somewhat similar to the high-tier weapons found in the second play-through of the first game but many gamers felt that it was just a gimmick as those weapons didn’t really have that much of an impact on the game since the enemies were stronger and
faster as well thus cancelling out the advantages of the new weapons.
”New mechanics and new creatures will appear that you’re [sic] won’t see on your first run. You can dig deep down in the skill trees and find skills that you haven’t been able to access before, combining these things together with your gear. Super
rare gear can sometimes change the way you play the game – you might, for example, find that gun that fires forever,” stated Cooke confirming that Gearbox was listening to the fan-feedback from the first game and this time around gamers will actually have
an incentive to replay the game as there will be a greater chance of acquiring rare item and weapon drops.
“It's also so much denser. Heck, just the city of Sanctuary, something like that couldn't exist in the first game. Our technology has evolved a lot to enable us to do that now," stated VP of Gearbox, Steve Gibson, explaining that towns and cities in Borderlands
2 will be full of life and won’t feel deserted like those of the first game.
The first Borderlands offered gamers seventy to eighty hours of entertainment with the four downloadable content (DLC) packs included. Gearbox has stated that the sequel is 50-60 percent bigger than the original and this is without any DLC. Despite not having
any form of competitive multiplayer, Borderlands 2 hopes to keep gamers busy with four player co-op and lots of things to when they go back to Pandora.
