Does anyone have a mother with Borderline Personality Disorder? Has anyone expereinced therapy in this situation and was it helpful?

  1. Therapy for you or your mother?

    You mother either needs long-term psychodynamic therapy or a type of therapy called DBT.  The difference is that DBT focuses on the here-and-now and skills training, whereas pyschodynamic focuses on the past and the relationship with the therapist.

    You most likely need therapy as well.  If you mother's Borderline affected you, you may have developed issues regarding relationships. Psychodynamic therapy or client-centered therapy will help you.
