Borderline personality disorder & prozac?

i was answerin another question about prozac, and i remembered it made me go crazy, tryin to jump outta windows, had huge knifes at my partner (at the time) etc. all this happened when i was having a "out brust" could the prozac have made me worse or was it just the bpd?

  1. If you are not already see a psychiatrist they are the experts.  I got really hyper from paxil.  Turns out that was because I was bipolar.  I did not get that diagnosed until I got to a psychiatrist.  My primary care doctor thought it was great that I felt so much better.


  2. Antidepressants often trigger hypomanic or manic episodes in bipolar patients (and sometimes even in people who're not bipolar). BPD has similar mood swings to bipolar (although they last for less time and are more reactive to external circumstances) so it's likely that the Prozac made you hypomanic or manic.
