Boric acid and borax? same thing?

i have a roach problem in my apartment, and im getting fed up with my landlord..i know boric acid helps fight off the roaches, but i own a box of 20 mule team borax...are they the same thing? will it fight them off? an exterminator is coming friday morning, and i plan to fog my apartment. should i fog before the exterminator comes or after?

you should definitely ask the exterminator if you should or not.

He is a professional so he would know when would be the right time to fog would be, and what to use.
