Boring out an engine?

i was wondering how much boring out an 305 engine would cost ...... i would have the block out of the car and be using a machine shop,also i dont know how much over im going i just want to found out a price guide if will, so i can plan my rebuild. thanks for all your help and advice!!!

If your going to have that done you might as well have new cam bearings installed ,boil the block out, the head work done and what ever else machine work done. I would guess 5 or 6 hundred dollars. This is just the beginning. You have to deal with the crank,rods pistons cam lifters, springs and  all the smaller things. Probably $2000 and up. Go to Jegs and see what a complete rebuild kit goes for.

Look in the yellow pages for a local shop sometimes it is cheaper if you get parts there.Just call and ask them for a rough idea.
