Liverpool’s newly signed striker, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Fabio-Borini-c13163 has played down rumours that his poor relationship with his colleagues at the Stadio Olimpico was the reason behind his move to Anfield.
The Italian International was signed by the Yellow-Reds in August last year under a co-ownership deal with Parma. Roma had only recently acquired complete ownership of the forward. During his brief stay in Rome, the 21-year old featured in 26 games and scored
10 goals.
Following the completion of his move to Anfield on the 13th of July for an estimated 11 million pounds transfer fee, some speculations surfaced linking the striker’s transfer to his unhealthy relationship with his former colleagues.
However, Borini moved to negate all the rumours surrounding the circumstances which led to his decision of joining Liverpool, insisting that he had no problems whatsoever with anyone at Roma.
He explained that his absence from two team dinners had been misconstrued as his inability to warm up with his colleagues, claiming that he missed out on the events due to some family reasons.
The striker is reported to have said, “I never had any problems with anyone. I did not attend two [team] dinners, out of a total of three I think, because I had family that had come to Rome to visit for me. That's it.”
Touching the subject of his comments on http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roma-c31603 vice-captain Daniele De Rossi’s exclusion from the team due to his late arrival in a team meeting, Borini claimed that his remarks were not aimed at infuriating the player. He claimed that he was only implying
that he himself was never late for any training session.
The striker is expected to make his http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 debut against Toronto in a friendly pre-season match on the 21st of July.
When asked to comment on how he felt on becoming a part of the Anfield family, the player revealed that he always wanted to be a part of the Premier League, and termed http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 as the ‘home’ of football.
He further added that his decision of joining the Reds was influenced by the fact that he wanted to work alongside Rodgers, under whom he had already played at Swansea City.
“The coach influenced my decision. But he also drew upon the stimulus of [joining such] a glorious club.”
