Liverpool striker, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Fabio-Borini-c13163, is training overtime in order to improve on his shooting, and is confident that he will be able to reverse his slow start to Anfield career.
The Reds claimed the signature of the Italian International from AS http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roma-c31603 this summer for an estimated transfer fee of 11 million pounds.
So far, he has made seven appearances for the Anfield outfit, but has managed to net the ball only once.
Keeping in view http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809’s dismal conversion rate in the previous season, it was on the cards that manager, Brendan Rodgers, would land in new strikers during the summer.
It was hoped that Borini would ease the Northern Irishman’s attacking woes, given his sublime performance for Roma last term. All in all, he bagged 10 goals for the Italian outfit in 26 caps.
However, so far, the striker has failed to make any notable impression at Anfield, despite enjoying the confidence of his manager for a place in the starting eleven.
In order to come out of his current poor form, the striker is reported to be practicing overtime in the training grounds.
He revealed that he enjoyed the support of the entire coaching staff, who are guiding him in multiple ways, so as to improve his conversion rate.
“I'm working really hard on the training ground. On my physical condition, technical side and tactical as well, with the manager and the assistant manager after training, with Luis and all the other players,” he told the club’s official website.
Borini was also confident that his goal drought will soon end, and he needs to bide his time before he returns to goal scoring ways.
Liverpool were held on to a 1-1 draw by Sunderland on Saturday. During the match, the Italian footballer squandered a couple of easy chances, and also saw his team struggle to find the back of the net, despite dominating the proceedings.
Nonetheless, Borini was optimistic that the Reds will be able to fight off their slow start to the campaign, and feels there were plenty of positives to be picked up from their last game.
“I had two good chances in the first half, we hit the crossbar, we hit the post. They actually probably had one shot on goal and scored one. We've been unlucky, as maybe the last few games have been. But I think we made our point and our style,” he added.
