After having spent a successful one year spell at AS http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roma-c31603, which saw him score 10 goals in just 26 caps last season, the 21-year old let out his hunger of winning trophies with the Reds and revealed that during his stay at Merseyside, he will look to play
for Liverpool rather than seeking any personal milestones for himself.
While talking to reporters, he said: “It's an important shirt and the first thing I need to worry about is the front of the shirt [the badge] rather than the back [the name]… It's an historic club and has won so many trophies in the past, and it wants to
win just as many in the future.”
Liverpool, who have won 18 league titles and also got 5 European Cups to their name, have not claimed the league title in almost 22 years. Their dismal eighth place finish last term also meant that they have now failed to qualify for the Champions League
competition in their third successive attempt.
However, despite their pitiful stats over the last couple of years, Borini felt that Liverpool remain to be one of the biggest clubs in Europe, and was desperate to help them win more trophies in the coming years.
Talking of his early days at his new home, the striker revealed that the entire squad have been really nice to him, and have been helping him out ever since his arrival.
“I got inside the group very quickly and they've helped me [to settle]. If I need something, I'll ask no problem and they'll show me… http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Joe-Cole-c18694 does too because I knew him before I came here.”
