Born On A Military Base In England, Do I Qualify For Citizenship?

My birth certificate says British-American. I have no english family. Does it help my chances in getting citizenship?

  1. If you were born after the 1st January 1983 then you are not a British citizen and I don't know why your birth cert would say British-American. If you were born after said date you would have to apply the same as ever other non-national.


  2. Both my kids were born on a military base in Spain and had the option of choosing their citizenship when they turned 18.

  3. Why wouldn't you want to be an American?  We claimed Idependence from them in 1776 over two hundred years ago today.

  4. If you were born on an American military base to American citizens then you are an American.John Mcain was born in the canal zone in Panama which was an American military base and he is running for president.
