Born To Sea pointed to the Sunday’s JRA Stakes at Leopardstown after winning at the Curragh

John Oxx aims at heading his maiden star, Born To Sea to race in Sunday’s JRA Killavullan Stakes at Leopardstown. The Irish juvenile colt out of Invincible Spirit Urban Sea is being trained by John M Oxx and is owned by Christopher Tsui.
Born To Sea’s first career run was the Irish Field Blenheim Stakes at the Curragh on 10th September on a field of eight competing for breaking their maiden. The colt was being ridden by J Murtagh.
It did not take the pair long to stay in touch with the lot towards the rear, and from 1 ½ furlong out the two closed in further. The next furlong found them clear track which enabled them to ride out and get quick when entering the final furlong. The pair
was able to lead from over 50 yards out.
Finishing the race after the winner was G M Lyons trained Pearl In The Sand who was partnered with N G McCullagh and was followed by An Ghalanta trained by J S Bolger and ridden by K J Manning.
G M Lyons other entry in the race was Bible Black, who finished 6th in the with K Latham aboard. Last to leave the racing track was Mrs John Harrington trained Gush with F M Berry aboard.
The reason that the juvenile is under pressure because he is a half brother to the same stable’s brilliant colt Sea The Stars who had an unbeaten record for the three years that he raced. The various victories included 2000 Guineas, the Derby and the Arc.
The connections are positive with his entry into the race, and are expecting only the best that according to them is possible for Born To Sea.
"We'll have to see what the ground actually ends up like. We had almost three inches of rain on Monday and the ground was heavy after that. We wouldn't really want a heavy ground slog, but we've had dry weather after that and the ground is improving”. John
Oxx told.
The race only will unfold the results, but if Sea The Stars does win this race then there would be no better kick off to a career that is bound to shoot further.
