Question:

Born with 2 hair colors!?

I was born with brown hair and several patches of blond hair on my head. My largest blond streak is about 3 inches wide and I also have a blond patch that is underneath the first layer of hair. Does anyone know if there is a condition that would cause me to be born like this?

  1. It's kind of the same for me.  I have red hair (like Lindsay Lohan in the Parent Trap) but underneath the first layer of my hair, I have this about 2 inch patch for just one layer that is dark brown.  I never noticed it until one day my hairdresser was drying my hair in layers after I got it cut, and she's like, what's this?  And we realized that I had a patch of dark hair!

  2. Hey your lucky most pople pay for that or use hair dye! I had to dye light brow hair with stripes of blond!

  3. There are a variety of conditions that might cause it.  Most are mosaicisms -- different cell populations in your body.  Some are a result of a mutation that might have occurred in one of your cells when you did not consist of that many cells.  I've included a reference.

  4. it is most likely mutated harmless melanin in your hair.
