Borna Dealer to pair up victories by winning the Corona 480 metres Trophy at Nottingham on 16th April
The Corona 480 metres Trophy will get held at Nottingham over 480 metres on Monday, 16th April. Contesting tonight are Yahoo Jamie, White Coat, Borna Dealer, Ambleside Al, Tennyson Hawk and Slick Signature for the £200 prize money.
A leading entry for the race is Borna Dealer, Westmead Joe’s two-year-old black son out of b***h, Borna Fence. He started the new campaign by getting drilled over460 metres at Henlow on 12th January. He was successful in completing the trip in 28.54 seconds.
His seasonal debut on 19th January had him qualifying as the runner up in a 460 metres race at Henlow that was won by Head Iton Granty, who reached the other end of the wire in 28.67 seconds with four and a half lengths under his belt.
He then scored second in the Primus Telecom Puppy Derby Heat 6 on 26th January at Henlow over 460 metres. Bridge Bandit covered the track distance in 27.91 seconds while leading by three and a half lengths. The 7/4 favourite of the race, King Phil, ended fourth.
Borna Dealer then failed to a miserable sixth position in the Primus Telecom Puppy Derby 2nd Semi Final on 2nd February at Henlow over 460 metres. The race was won by Benkaat Blue who timed the track distance in 27.90 seconds.
Borna Dealer scored a second position in a 480 metres race at Sheffield on 22nd February. Head Iton Ellis was the winner who led by 4 ¼ lengths and raced across the wire in 28.51 seconds.
Not satisfied with the performance of the two-year-old, the trainer, J. Sharp trained Borna Dealer over 280 metres on 28th March at Sheffield which he mastered in 16.40 seconds.
His luck did not improve instantly after the training session as he finished sixth in the Owlerton Bookmakers Sprint at Sheffield over 280 metres on 3rd April. The race was won by the 4/5 favourite, Swabys Tony.
Finally, after staying winless in the five races that came his way during the new season, Borna Dealer posted a victory through the Stadium Bookmakers 480 Maiden Trophy on 9th April. He was through the track distance in 29.68 seconds.
The 5/4 favourite of the race, Goa Storm, ended third after racing for 29.92 seconds.
A victory after so long will surely tempt the two-year-old to put in all his sincere efforts for the race tonight.
