Borna George tipped for victory in Worthingtons 480m Trophy at Nottingham
Borna George is most likely to display a dominating performance in the Worthingtons 480m Trophy, to be held at Nottingham on Monday, February 20, 2012. The 480 metres flat Grade OR heat is due to get underway at 20:19. A cash prize of £200 will be handed
over to the triumphant.
Following are the contestants who will take part in this high-voltage meeting.
Borna George
Slick Shane
Due Haste
Drumcrow Dav
Big Alf
Calling Danielle
Despite not having any recent great performance under his belt, Borna George is enjoying the favourite tag. The brindle dog holds a huge experience of running in this track and that might work as an advantage. On January 23, the spectators
at Nottingham witnessed a superb show by G. Ballentine's trainee, as he outclassed Droopys Beano by staggering five lengths.
His fantastic track record at this venue will be a morale booster and the hound is expected to demonstrate an extraordinary performance. According to the betting forecast, he has been given a starting price of 6 to 4.
On the other hand, Slick Shane is running at this venue after a gap of more than three months. However, that does not take anything away from the black dog, who is stepping into this battle after a couple of back to back wins. His latest
triumph came at Romford, where he outclassed Newinn Phanter by 1 ½ lengths. The K. Allsop-trained is in winning mood at the moment and thus, his opponents cannot take him lightly.
Due Haste, Drumcrow Dav and Big Alf, all are evenly matched. The trio has been awarded with the odds of 6 to 1 each. Anyone of these three rampant hounds can come up with an excellent performance and upset
the rest of the pack.
After finishing fourth in his last outing on Feb 14, Due Haste will be aiming to be in the mix tonight. The hound has an ability to dominate the show but for that he will have to avoid any sort of mess on the track.
Drumcrow Dav is coming into this competition after showing a decent performance in the Gymcrack final at Kinsley. In his latest outing, the brindle dog ended up second. Victories seem to have dried up for Hondo Black’s son out of Drumcrow
Sabrina and he will have to do something different to notch the top position.
Big Alf is also going through a similar situation. Despite the fact the black dog sealed first place in his last race on Feb 13, it will be a bit risky to pinup too many hopes on him. After coming out from the red box, P. Townson’s trainee
will have to stay consistent in order to do something special.
Calling Danielle is the least favourite hound, carrying the odds of 10/1. After delivering a winning performance at Kinsley on January 21, the black and white b***h lost her momentum, and displayed an ordinary show in the subsequent two
races.
Final Prediction
Considering his knowledge about this track, Borna George is our favourite.
Slick Shane is likely to give him a hard time whereas the trio of
Due Haste, Drumcrow Dav and Big Alf will battle hard for a place among top three.
