Borough Boy all set for the 32Redpoker.com Nursery
The Class 6 32Redpoker.com Nursery has pulled together a line-up of seven two-year-old runners who will contest over six furlongs at Lingfield on Monday, 13th August. Some have raced at Lingfield before while for some the race today will serve as the track debut with not a lot who have already won a race.
One of the most commendable entries for the race is the two-year-old bay colt, Borough Boy who has tried his luck at breaking the maiden trice but has failed at all the instances. Owing to his impressive performance at the race track last time, the bay colt has been sent today with a 12 to 1 shot.
His career debut was in the British Stallion Studs Supporting British Racing E B F Maiden Stakes on 25th June, 2012 at Wolverhampton over six furlongs. He was the last one on the field of seven while the race was won by, Claude Greenwood. He cleared the maiden by 1 ¼ lengths and set the favourite entry of the race, Club House, second.
After losing with jockey, Dale Swift, the next stop for the Derek Shaw trained was in the EBF Davisbakerycaribbean.Com Maiden Stakes on 16th July, 2012 at Windsor over five furlongs. For a straight second time, Jeremy’s Irish bay colt was the last one to leave the track in the field of five.
This time he was paired up with jockey, Neil Callan.
He could not manage being the first one through the wire even on the third attempt on 4th August, 2012 at Lingfield over five furlongs. The two-year-old out of mare, Ostrusa, ended eighth in the British Stallion Studs Supporting British Racing EBF Maiden Stakes.
Even though the ranking is not impressive the least bit, his effort during the initial furlongs of the race cannot be overlooked. He did try his level best inside the final furlong, but the seven before him went past the wire at such narrow intervals that his chances became suffocated.
Borough Boy will race with jockey, Neil Callan, and the two have drawn the first gate to race out from.
