Borussia Dortmund 2-0 Dynamo Dresden - DFB-Pokal Recap
Back to winning ways for Borussia Dortmund as the reigning Bundesliga champions recorded another smart win, this time over Dynamo Dresden, in order to progress through to the third round of DFB-Pokal.
The two teams locked heads on Tuesday, October 25, at Signal Iduna Park. The Borussians emerged as comfortable 2-0 winners on the night, courtesy goals from Robert Lewandowski and Mario Gotze.

Dynamo, on the other hand, adapted a standard 4-4-2 formation. Mickael Pote and Cidimar played in their usual centre forward positions. Dennis Eilhoff started in goal for the visitors.
The home team started the game as favourites and dominated most part of the 90 minutes with their free flowing display. It didn’t take long for the hosts to settle down in front of a jam packed Signal Iduna Park. Dresden were forced firmly onto back foot

flew past Eilhoff to earn his team a 1-0 advantage.
In spite of creating numerous openings inside the first 45 minutes, the Black Yellows failed to hang on to their chances and went into the dugout with a slim 1-0 score line.
Dresden came out with positive intent in the second half but the reigning Bundesliga holders were equal to their task. The Borussians back four stayed firm, never allowing Pote and Cidimar to go past Weidenfeller’s safe hands.
Dortmund, on the other hand, continued their attacking display in order to add to their 1-0 advantage. Mario Gotze helped his side to 2-0 lead with a 65thminute strike, closing doors on the visiting Dynamo Dresden.

Dortmund are currently having a decent time both in the Bundesliga and DFB Pokal and are second in the league standings.
