Borussia Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke insists midfielder Mario Gotze not for sale
Borussia Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke has issued a hands-off warning to all the big clubs regarding young midfielder Mario Gotze. He said that the club has tied all key players in long-term contracts as they have no intent of selling them in the summer
transfer window.
Mario Gotze has been a fantastic player for the Bundesliga leaders this season and has scored seven goals in all competitions in a total of 32 appearances. The midfielder’s brilliant performances have not been overlooked by Joachim Low and the 18-year old
made his international debut in November last year against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Sweden-c3015.
Watzke said no player is put for sale by the Dortmund club and he wants to keep all the important players after a stunning season domestically. Jurgen Klopp’s side have turned many heads around after a series of consistent performances this season.
“We tied all our key players down on new long-term deals for a reason, so we obviously don't want to sell important players in the summer transfer window,” the Chairman was quoted as saying.
The Chairman added that the young midfielder will not be sold at any cost after speculation that Manchester United and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38605 are after the German international. He said that the Gotze is bound in a contract with Die Borussen which will end in 2014 and
even a multi-million euro offer would not force the club to sell.
“Goetze in particular is not for sale at any price. He has a contract with Dortmund until 2014 and not even an €25 million offer would be enough to lure him away from the club,” concluded Hans-Joachim Watzke.
Borussia Dortmund have had a sensational season this term in the Bundesliga and are well on their way to win their first league title in ten years, after finishing fifth last season.
The Borussians are top of the league table with 65 points and have 20 wins out of 28 games, with three losses all season. The Dortmund side have a seven point lead over Bayer Leverkusen with six games to go in the season.
