2010/11 Bundesliga champions, Borussia Dortmund, have reignited their interest in the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 striker, Nicklas Bendtner, for the upcoming season. The Premier League outfit confirmed about Dortmund’s interest in the striker but were reluctant to sell him
for less than the asking price.
Dortmund reportedly have struck a bid for the Danish international which is less than the 12 million Pounds, the player’s asking price. The Gunners manager, Arsene Wenger, admitted the fact about the striker being presented with lesser number of chances
at the Emirates Stadium but found Dortmund’s bid rather too unimpressive.
Bendtner, on the other hand, refrained from talking over this issue until a final settlement between the two clubs is reached. The Black Yellows manager, Jurgen Klopp, enthused that the introduction of the striker would be a welcome inclusion at Signal Iduna
Park. The manager also hailed his young side for putting up an impressive show during the last season, where they lost only five times throughout the entire campaign.
Bendtner, though, expressed his frustration for not being offered enough chances at the club and demanded more first team opportunities. The player has managed only 98 league appearances during his six-year Arsenal career so far. He joined the club in 2005
after spending a year with the Gunners http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/U-17-Youth-team-c40787. The Dane also spent a year long spell at Birmingham City from 2006 to 2007 and made 42 league appearances, bagging 11 goals during the process.
The Borussians chairman, Dr. Reinhard Rauball, told that the club took a chance with Bendtner’s bidding and were waiting for the Gunners’ response. The Emirates-based outfit showed mixed emotions over this matter. The club seemed tempted to sell the striker
in order to get some cash in return, but Arsenal Chairman, Peter Hill-Wood, wants to wait further in order to get the right bid for the 23-year-old.
The striker managed only 13 league appearances during the whole of last season and still managed to bag two goals. Dortmund would need to up their bid slightly in order to secure Bendtner’s deal permanently.
