Having impressed all with his displays at AWD-Arena, Hannover defensive midfielder http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Manuel-Schmiedebach-c23439 has recently received interest from Borussia Dortmund. The reigning Bundesliga champions have closely monitored the player this season and are considering
an official bid for the youngster.
Schmiedebach has been impressive this season and hasn’t only won applaud from Die Roten officials but the DFB too. So far, the player has started in every game this term for Hannover and has already won admirers in such a short span.
It is believed that the reigning Bundesliga champions, Borussia Dortmund, are interested in acquiring the player’s services. The German’s contract is set to expire at the end of 2011/12 season after which he’ll be available on a free transfer.
Hannover, on the other hand, are unlikely to let the youngster go for free. The Reds officials would certainly want to be benefited from the player’s transfer and might offer him a contract extension, any time soon.
The 22-year-old expressed delight after learning of Dortmund’s interest and would consider a move to Signal Iduna Park at the end of this term.
He showed gratitude to Dortmund officials for admiring his talent but is still undecided about his future in Germany. The defender, though, assured the Black Yellows of his arrival if he decides to pursue his career in Germany.
While talking to Deutsche Welle, the former Hertha Berlin player further added, "I don't know what will happen yet. I may well extend my contract, but I might leave. Dortmund is very tempting. What player wouldn't like to play there?”
When asked about his international plans, Schmiedebach clearly stated his desire to represent Venezuela. The sweeper is eligible to play for both http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Germany-c2904 and Venezuela but is clear on his stance, keeping in mind the possibility of first team chances in both
countries.
Schmiedebach concluded the talks by saying, "People realise that I have different roots, but for me it is difficult to define my nationality. It is very likely that I'll play for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Venezuela-c3039. When the time comes, they will contact those responsible. I am willing
to wear the burgundy and represent my second home."
The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Berlin-c7536 born defender has now become a backbone of his side but is expected to part ways with Die Roten at the end of this campaign.
