Borussia Dortmund manager Jurgen Klopp targets win against Olympiakos in the Champions League
Borussia Dortmund manager Jurgen Klopp has stated that his side is in desperate need for a win in the UEFA Champions League. He claimed that the results in Europe have been poor for Dortmund this season and a win could surely bring
them on the right path. He added that a defeat would surely end all hopes of progressing to the next round.
Die Borussen are struggling at the bottom of Group-F with one point from the three games played. They are yet to secure their first win in Europe this season and have already suffered two defeats at the hands of Olympique Marseille
and Olympiakos.
Klopp claimed that a win in the next match against Olympiakos would be crucial if the side has any chances of going through to the next round. He insisted that the team has to continue with the league performances in the Champions
League as they have no option left but to win.
The manager admitted that a loss again would surely end any hopes of qualifying for the knock-out stages of the competition. He added that the three games Dortmund has played have been poor and wants to make a comeback with a win.
“We need to play at least as well as we did against Stuttgart. Our chances of qualifying are over if we lose. We have learned our lessons from the first three games and we know what we have to do to make this group more interesting,”
he was quoted as saying in an interview.
Dortmund defender http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Neven-Subotic-c27632 also admitted that the game against Olympiakos will be a very important one. He added that the team has to get the maximum points from the remaining games in order to progress.
“It is our most important game to date. We got ourselves into a situation where we really need a win. The faster we can score the better, because we only have three chances left to get some points,” the defender concluded.
Borussia Dortmund will face Greek side Olympiakos at the Signal Iduna Park on Tuesday, November 1, in search of their first win of the competition.
