Borussia Dortmund midfielder Sebastian Kehl not concerned about league position
Borussia Dortmund midfielder http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Sebastian-Kehl-c32732 has stated that he is unconcerned about the team’s position on the league table at this point of the season as there is still time left until the end of the season. The player claimed
that Dortmund will try and win the remaining games before the winter break and wants to end the first half of the campaign on a winning note.
Die Borussen are currently second on the Bundesliga standings table with 30 points from the 15 games played and have won nine times this season. They started the season rather slowly but have picked up brilliantly and are in sensational
form at the moment.
Kehl stated that it is only December and league positions do not matter at this point of the season. The midfielder claimed that the team’s main target would be to be on top in May next year when it really matters. The player is
aiming for wins in the two matches remaining before Christmas and wants to end December on a high.
“It's only the start of December and the trophies aren't handed out yet. The rewards come in May. If we keep playing as we have been in recent weeks, we'll pick up points in our remaining games before the winter break and can look
forward to challenging in the New Year,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
The German international also voiced his admiration towards Borussia Monchengladbach and admitted that Lucien Favre’s team is a genuine contender for the league title. He admitted that the Foals are a very improved side after a
poor season last term and have comeback strongly in this campaign.
“Gladbach should definitely be taken seriously. They try to play football. It's the Lucien Favre way of doing things. Hopefully we'll finish above them come the end of the season,” the midfielder concluded.
Borussia Dortmund were knocked out of the UEFA Champions League after they lost to French side Olympique Marseille at home in Tuesday’s fixture. They finished the campaign at the bottom of the table behind the likes of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429,
Marseille and Olympiacos.
