Borussia Dortmund attacking midfielder http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Shinji-Kagawa-c33364 has claimed that he is working hard on achieving full fitness for the next campaign. The player has aimed for an injury free season ahead after missing most of the second-half
of the last campaign through a metatarsal blow.
Shinji Kagawa had a sensational first-half of the season last term as he scored eight times in a total of 18 appearances in the Bundesliga. The attacking midfielder attracted interest from a host of top European clubs including
the likes of Manchester United after his maiden campaign in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Germany-c2904.
The Japanese international stated that he is slowly reaching full fitness and was delighted to play the fill 90 minutes in the DFL Supercup clash against Schalke. The German champions lost the fixture on penalties but it was a
huge boost as one of their star players returned to the starting eleven.
Kagawa admitted that the match was tiring for him as he had played his first full match of the season after returning from injury. He added that the training sessions have also been very hectic and hoped that the hard work pays
off when the season starts.
“That was my first 90 minutes of the season in this sort of atmosphere and to be honest it was exhausting. What with the travel and the training camp and the match, it is a really tough time of year,” he was quoted as saying in
an interview.
The former Cerezo Osaka midfielder insisted that it was unfortunate for him to not take the penalty in the match that ended 0-0 at full-time. Dortmund lost 4-3 on penalties and the result was decided before the Japanese midfielder
could take his chance.
“Obviously I can't use that as an excuse but I am happy that I was able to play 90 minutes. It's a shame I couldn't take a penalty. I think I was about sixth in the order,” he concluded.
Shinji Kagawa was the top scorer in the second division of the J-League in 2009 when he played for Cerezo Osaka.
