Borussia Dortmund midfielder Shinji Kagawa has targeted a win against Arsenal in the upcoming UEFA Champions League clash at the Emirates Stadium. He stated that the team is high on confidence after the brilliant 1-0 win against
Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena and will surely play for a win.
The Borussians are currently in third place in the Group-F of the Champions League with four points and desperately need a win against the English giants. Anything other than a win would surely dent their chances of progressing
to the next round of the competition.
Kagawa claimed that the side is riding high after the Bundesliga win against Bayern and will be looking to capitalize on the sensational performance. He admitted that it will be a difficult task to go out and win in London but
remained confident that they can get a result if they continue playing well.
The Japanese international added that he would even play dirty and physical to win the game as it is the only chance for the club. Die Borussen would also hope that the result in the other fixture of the group goes their way as
Olympique Marseille take on Greek side Olympiakos.
“That last result has lifted us. This is like a final for us and we must avoid defeat if we are to progress. We drew 1-1 with Arsenal in Dortmund and it was a fair result. Now I am looking for us to win an ugly match — I'd rather
that than we play well but lose,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
The attacking midfielder further added that in-form striker http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Robin-van-Persie-c31380 would be a huge threat for his side. He admitted that the Dutchman’s amazing goal scoring form can prove to be a tough task for their defence.
“Robin Van Persie is a sensational striker and one of the best in Europe. I just hope he fails again against us,” he concluded.
Both sides will meet at the Emirates Stadium on Wednesday night. A win for the home side would surely take them through to the next round whereas a victory for the visitors would enhance their chances of qualification.
