Borussia Dortmund winger Kevin Grosskreutz delighted with great start to the season
Borussia Dortmund winger Kevin Grosskreutz has expressed his delight on the great start to the season. He was also elated on scoring two goals in his side’s win against Hamburg and admitted that he would definitely want his team
to defend the Bundesliga title at the end of the season.
Borussia Dortmund downed Hamburg SV 3-1 in the Bundesliga season opener at the Signal Iduna Park in Dortmund. Grosskreutz was brilliant in the fixture as he scored a brace to earn his side all three points and a maiden win.
Grosskreutz admitted that Dortmund played an awesome game and have started from where they had left last season. He was confident of another successful season with Die Borussen.
However, the player warned against complacency and insisted that there is a full season to look forward to. He also added that losses to Bayern Munich, Bayer Leverkusen and Schalke do not put them out of contention as it is only
the start.
“We're off to a great start and are delighted. But unfortunately the first match day says nothing. In addition, the prelude to the collapse of Bavaria has to mean anything. Who remain the overwhelming favorite,” he was quoted as
saying in an interview.
The German international was disappointed on being left out of the national squad for the clash against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Brazil-c2858 in Stuttgart and insisted that he will work hard to regain his place in the Die Mannschaft squad.
“Of course it's disappointing. I have no choice but to continue to give full throttle and hit me even more to clean. I see the non-nomination as an added incentive,” he continued.
The attacker also stated that he is committed to the club and is not even thinking of a move away. He insisted that Dortmund are one of the best sides in the world and that he does not intend to leave in the near future.
“At the moment I know of no reason why I should leave the best club in the world,” he concluded.
Kevin Grosskreutz scored nine goals last season in 43 appearances for Borussia Dortmund.
