The Borussian striker demands more playing time at the club and is unsure whether he will stay with reigning German champions or not.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Lucas-Barrios-c22533 has hinted at his departure from Borussia Dortmund at the end of this campaign. The striker has had limited first team opportunities this term which has become a source of frustration for him. Barrios feels that he
has been hard done especially after performing convincingly last season and might part ways with the reigning German champions.
The striker mentioned that he would prefer joining a club where there are enough opportunities in the playing XI. The former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 and Manchester
City and was reportedly denied a move in January.
While talking to sports magazine, Sport Bild, the 27-year-old Paraguayan further added:
"Of course, I do not want to sit on the bench for a second season. That is not what being a professional footballer is about. I'm unhappy, but I'm waiting for my chance as a professional. It is difficult on the other hand for me
to accept this after such a successful season."
Barrios has been frequently used as a substitute in recent weeks but has failed to cement his place in the first team. This situation is unacceptable from the player’s point of view who was the stand-out player last year for Dortmund.
The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Paraguay-c2979 international made 32 league appearances in the 2010/11 season, bagging 16 goals during the process.
The striker netted 19 league goals in the preceding year but amazingly has fallen down the pecking order of strikers at the Signal Iduna Park. Barrios has appeared 12 times so far this season, bagging only one goal in return.
On the other hand, the Paraguayan’s strike partner, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Robert-Lewandowski-c31255, has been in phenomenal form this season for the Borussians having scored 16 league goals from 23 appearances so far.
It will be interesting to see whether Barrios gets an opportunity in the playing XI after these comments when Dortmund takes on http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/1-FSV-Mainz-05-c38166 in their next game on Saturday, March 3.
