Borussia Dortmund’s Lukasz Piszczek in danger of losing club football- Bundesliga news
Borussia Dortmund right-back http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Lukasz-Piszczek-c22920 could lose his place in the club’s line-up following his suspension from international football until 2012. The player was found guilty of match fixing in the 2005/06 season while on international duty with the
Poland national side. The 26-year-old was recently fined 25,000 Euros to go along with a 12 months ban.
Piszczek felt embarrassed with this entire incident and refrained from commenting over the issue. He was apologetic towards both his national team and the club officials for committing such a poor crime. The 26-year-old accepted the sentence given to him
by the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Hertha-BSC-c39521 player, though, was disappointed to learn about his turbulent club future. He requested the federation to let him represent Dortmund in order to maintain the much needed match fitness.
It has still not been confirmed whether the Polish would be deprived of club football or not. The defender represented the Borussians during the last season and was also a part of the silverware winning squad. The player has also expressed utter disappointment
at the prospect of not being able to play in the UEFA Champions League. He mentioned that he worked hard throughout the last season and is still looking forward towards Europe’s elite competition.
While talking to a local news channel, Poland’s head of disciplinary commission, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Artur-c6727 Jedrych enthused, "There is a good chance that Piszczek will miss the Bundesliga and Champions League. I don't imagine Fifa will ignore a penalty for corruption."
Artur also seemed helpless over the matter as FIFA is the one to decide whether the defender continues playing club football or not. Dortmund manager Jurgen Klopp regarded the matter as an embarrassment for the club and decided not to comment over his right
back-c*m-winger. He clearly stated that it is a sensitive issue and would accept whatever decision FIFA and Polish Federation comes up with.
Lukasz joined Dortmund in 2010 and has 33 league games under his belt so far. He made his Poland debut in 2008 and has 18 international caps to his name until now.
