Borussia Dortmund’s http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Robert-Lewandowski-c31255 delighted with hat-trick against FC Augsburg
Borussia Dortmund striker Robert Lewandowski has expressed pleasure after scoring a hat-trick against FC Augsburg. The two clubs met on Saturday, October 1, at Signal Iduna Park where Dortmund won by a comprehensive 4-0 margin. Mario Gotze was the other
goal scorer for the Black Yellows.
The striker boasted that his side were dangerous against a depleted looking Augsburg outfit on the weekend. He believes that the Borussians made an outstanding comeback especially after losing badly during the midweek to Olympique Marseille in a Champions
League game. The reigning champions are yet to register a win in Europe’s elite competition this season.
Dortmund started Saturday’s game as favourites, forcing the visitors onto the back foot from the very first minute. It took 30 minutes for the home side to open the scoring, and that goal opened the floodgates on the travelling side.
The defending champions were in rampant mood as Lewandowski went on to score a hat-trick. Midfielder Mario Gotze also registered his name on the score sheet with his 75th minute strike.
The 23-year-old praised the efforts of his teammates for staying positive throughout the whole 90 minutes, without letting the fatigue get better of them. He also praised his manager Jurgen Klopp for handling the situation perfectly after a defeat in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899
earlier in the week.
Lewandowski reckons that Dortmund can still challenge Bayern Munich for the title despite being six points adrift of the Bavarian giants.
He further enthused, "I have never scored a hat-trick before. This is special, not only because it is my first, but also because I did it in the Bundesliga, and especially after the disappointment of Marseille. After a game like that, it is very important
to show that the team still has a lot of quality. We have proved that we are still aiming for the top prizes.”
Lewandowski landed at Signal Iduna Park in 2010 and has 13 league goals under his belt from 41 appearances. The striker also has 11 goals to his name for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Poland-c2983 since earning his international debut in 2008.
