The Foals are confident of making a strong comeback after being knocked out by Bayern Munich from the German Cup.
Having lost to Bayern Munich in the semi-final of the German Cup on Wednesday, March 21, Borussia Monchengladbach are confident of making a comeback in their next outing. The Foals are keen to focus on their remaining eight assignments
in the Bundesliga and qualify for a place in next season’s UEFA Champions League.
Gladbach defender, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Filip-Daems-c13733, mentioned that Bayern were outstanding on the night and probably deserved to progress further. He thought that his team defended brilliantly against a strong side and were only unlucky to miss out
on penalties. The defender is confident that this defeat will not disrupt Gladbach’s progress this term as they eye a place in Europe next season.
While talking to official FIFA website, the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Belgium-c2850 international further added: "Bayern were more confident in the penalties. But I don't think we will now fall into a negative spiral. We are playing a good season and we want
to carry that on over the coming weeks."
On the other hand, Gladbach manager, Lucien Favre also encouraged his side for keeping their composure throughout the 120 minutes and restricting the opposition. He opined that if Gladbach had taken one of their few chances in
the second period, there was a good chance of beating the Munich giants for the third time this season.
"It was a good game, but tough to keep the tempo high for 120 minutes. Bayern were definitely stronger than they were in January or August. We played well and it is hard to accept the penalty shoot-out, but now we will just have
to look forward," Favre concluded.
Monchengladbach came into this game having completed a league double over the Reds. They defeated them 1-0 at the Allianz Arena and 3-1 at the Borussia-Park.
The Foals will next be in action against Hoffenheim at the Borussia-Park as they look to strengthen their claim for the third spot and finish the season on a high. Gladbach have had an incredible run in this campaign after the
disappointment of last season when they ended 16th in the league standings.
