FC Twente’s negotiator, Aldo van der Laan, revealed he has held discussions with Borussia Monchengladbach’s Max Eberl regarding a deal for striker http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Luuk-de-Jong-c22956.
 
De Jong was a standout performer for Steve McLaren’s side which finished sixth in the Eredivisie. He came through De Graafschap’s youth system and left the club for FC Twente after spending eight years at the club. This striker
enjoys a prolific goalscoring record since his youth days.
At a tender age of 21, he has a total of 39 goals in 76 appearances. Last season, the player enjoyed his best season as a striker and became Eredivisie’s second top goal scorer scorer with 25 goals. Despite his young age, the centre-forward

The youngsters' sizzling hot form did not go unnoticed with European clubs. It was reported that De Jong had attracted interest from Newcastle United, Borussia Monchengladbach, and other high profile German clubs.
Mounting interest in the player has led to speculation that the player is certain to leave the Eredivisie side with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 his possible destinations.

yet and insists that his club are not desperate to part company with their prized asset.
"Max Eberl was here for two hours, but we are far from an agreement. For us, there is no need to sell De Jong,” he is quoted as saying in an interview.
Borussia Monchengladbach and De Jong’s club are thought be in disagreement over the players valuation.
Van der Laan, FC Twente’s negotiator, insisted that his club are ready to thrash a deal if the Foals make an appropriate bid, which reflects the player’s quality and the years remaining on his contract.  He also confirmed that
there are quite a few clubs chasing the 21-year old striker’s signature.
"We are ready to talk if the fee offered reflects the player’s quality and the time remaining on his contract. I can say that there are many interested clubs," he added.
Borussia Monchengladbach looks like an appropriate destination for the player, who has outgrown his current club and is in dire need of a new challenge.
