Borussia Monchengladbach striker Marco Reus has stated that he is looking forward to the derby against FC Koln next week and is hopeful that his side will continue with the winning run in the coming games of the season also. The
German international is overjoyed with the stunning win against Werder Bremen and wants to capitalize on the feat with another three points.
Reus scored a brilliant hat-trick in Monchengladbach’s previous Bundesliga game against Werder Bremen as the Foals won the clash with an impressive 5-0 score line. Borussia Monchengladbach is currently in third place on the Bundesliga
standings table with 26 points and are only two points behind leaders Bayern Munich after playing 13 games.
The striker claimed that the game against FC Koln on Friday will be a difficult one as it is an away game and insisted that the opposition has been very dangerous when they have played at the RheinEnergieStadion. He expressed his
joy on the comprehensive triumph against Bremen and stated that the team will start preparations for the next fixture on Monday.
“It's going to be a completely different game with a lot of passion. We're looking forward to it and obviously aiming to get a result there too. For now, we're going to enjoy the victory against Bremen. Our preparations for the
derby begin on Monday,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
The German international is confident that the team will keep improving as the season unfolds and insisted that the side can fight for the title at the end of the season. He also played down rumours of a possible exit at the end
of the season and added that he is happy with his current club.
“I think we've still got a little way to go until we can be classed as a really top team. We've lost a few games that we shouldn't have. Still, it's no coincidence. I'm very happy in Monchengladbach, and that's all I've got to
say on the matter,” he concluded.
Borussia Monchengladbach will face FC Koln on Friday at the RheinEnergieStadion in search of their ninth win of the campaign.
