performance but were unlucky not to score in the match.

Stegen claimed that his side is utterly disappointed with the result as they did not deserve to lose in the end. He insisted that Monchengladbach dominated the game from the start and created a lot of chances in the course of 90
minutes. However, he rued missed opportunities and claimed that the team failed to convert the chances to seal the game.
“We're deeply disappointed because I believe we deserved to take at least a point from the match. Unfortunately it didn't go our way today. The main reason is that we didn't use our goal scoring chances properly,” he was quoted
as saying in an interview.
The German Under-19 international admitted that it was a tough away clash and added that it was always going to be difficult winning. He stated that the result could have been different if the players in attack had just taken their
chances.
The shot stopper remained confident that the team will make a strong comeback next week and will make up to the defeat.
“We knew it wasn't going to be an easy match that was clear. After we conceded we also managed to get ourselves back into the match, but failed to capitalise on the numerous goal scoring opportunities we created. However, we can
be pleased with the way we performed in the second half,” he concluded.
Borussia Monchengladbach will next face Bayer Leverkusen at home in the Bundesliga.
