Bose cube speakers

Question

I have been looking at Bose cube speakers on ebay. I am wondering if these speakers can be connected to a conventional stereo without the use of the Bose module. The speakers in question are the series 3 double cube speakers about 6 inches tall. I know normally you need the Bose module between the stereo and the cubes. Just wondering how or even if they would work without using the module. Bernie
