Why are the "scientific stormtroopers" so scared that the pyramids might be a real archaeological discovery, are they just trying to protect the status quo ????

  1. Undoubtedly there are achaeological sites on these Bosnian hills, but that doesn't make them pyramids. Nobody is scared that pyramids might actually be there; most folks just aren't so credulous. Osmanagić's claims are far-fetched, he hasn't provided and consistence or credible evidence to support them, and he has even lied about the team of researchers that has agreed to participate in the investigation. Osmanagić's claims bear all the characteristics of pseudoscience--that he has found "evidence" that these are pyramids (stone blocks on the hill), that the "Pyramid of the Sun" is one of the oldest architectural structures on Earth, that the builders has some connection to Atlantis (a continent that never existed, except in writing), etc. It's not a matter of "scientific stormtroopers" protecting the status quo. It's a matter of too many people credulously believing the claims of a dishonest publicity hound without valid evidence to support his extraordinary claims.

It's dangerous to believe everything anyone tells you just because you like the sound of the story. Carl Sagan once said, "extraordinary claims require extraoridnary evidence". Unfortunately, Osmanagić hasn't fulfilled the obligations of proof that go along with his claims.

  2. what about the tunnel system?

  3. The reason is simple. People with dominance-seeking temperament

associate their sense of dominance with their beliefs. Although

some small change will not be perceived as a threat, a large threat

to the beliefs that one touts is perceived as a threat to one's dominance.

That is why the status quo upholders are typically high-testosterone

    individuals.

Some of Osmanegic's claims about the pyramids are based on little

or no evidence, particularly the claims that they were built before the

last ice age and are pyramids of Atlantis. Still, there is strong evidence

that there are artificial pyramids there, including interlocking stone

    bricks that were uncovered.

So basicly, it's a biased nut versus biased nuts... just like the political

    parties.

Wow. Three negative ratings. I must have really pissed off the

dominance-seekers! heh heh. Exposure hurts, doesn't it?
