Bosnian Wedding?

Hi im american and my bosnian boyfriend has recently asked me to marry him.... i was wondering, whats a bosnian wedding like? anything traditional i should know about? anything really cool or special or unique about them? please let me know! thx!

The wedding it self is very similar across all religions in the Balkan. There are so many traditions that you could include in your wedding that your wedding could last up to three days lol.

I would suggest sitting down with your boyfriend and figuring out what both of you want. I am getting married next year and we picked just two traditional things to do at our wedding which is the dance with the bride and it's not the one dollar dance this is more like a $100 dollar dance in our culture and than the flowers for every guest that's attending the wedding which you'll get a lot of money for as well. Than someone may want to steal your shoe which means that the best man will have to BUY IT back for you from who ever stole the shoe.
There is also "slatka" basically rakija is going around a shot or a bottle and people paying for it. One thing that you'll notice in our culture is that you get a LOT of money out of the weddings and the whole purpose of that is to help the bride and the groom start their life.
