I have good reason to believe my boss is stealing from the workplace but he is in real tight with the owner ..I have been in this job for less than 6 months , i truly believe this guy will retaliate if I don't have a "smoking gun" and Ireally need this job and enjoy the work .Any Ideas or thoughts would be greatly appreciated

  1. If the owner really cares about his business then he will listen to what you have to say. dont come out and say i think so-and-so is stealing. just bring it up to his attention. say something like i havent been working here for long but i have a suspiscion that (your bosses name) is taking (dont say stealing, it registers in the mind differently; this is all about chosing your words carefully) items from the workplace? im just following the guidelines you've setup in the workplace...  the owner cant look down on you for bringing something up to his attention. then he'll probably question you as to why you feel that way.. and he'll say thanks and question your boss if theres any issues.... only if you fully come out and accuse your boss with no solid back-up that the owner could lose trust in you.

if your sincere about it then he will listen. AND ! he'll appreciate it because your looking out for his company which in turn reflects back to looking out for the owner.... its a win win really

  2. definately mind your own business

  3. CYA! CYA! Keep a hard copy, dated journal of everything you find, if you can take pictures of the items coming in, ask the head boss about missing inventory/frequent inventory turnover that kind of thing.

Ask about commissions for all the inventory you must be selling becasue your always short of stock, that will get people's ears up.

  4. If your job has an HR department, call them anonymously and they should handle it.
