Question:

Boss hasn't responded to my resignation?

I tried to meet my boss to discuss my resignation however, she was not in her office on the three attempts I made to meet with her. Therefore, I placed my resignation letter in her mail box along with a note that I had tried to meet with her three times and that I would also follow up via email. It has been 27 hours now with no response. Due to starting my new job I am unable to provide the minimal months notice and stated this in my resignation and notified her effective date of May 2, 2008.

Is this odd or should I take it that she is OK with my departure date?

  1. she's obviously too busy to care (or finding your replacement) you submitted the resignation - go about your business and get ready to start your new job - you left it in her court and this is how she seems to deal with it - not very professional of her to not at least acknowledge she received it

  2. Well, you can forward your resignation to your HR but you are still required to discuss with your boss your resignation for the turn-over, etc... Should time be an issue, I suggest you offer that you can allot a time for the transition even if you are no longer connected.
