What are the stupidesr excuses you have haerd, for an employye calling in?

calling in to say "i'm sick"...

Late? "Do you know how objects expand when they are heated up and contract when they are cooled down? That's what happened to me. Due to the recent heat wave we've been having, I forgot to allow enough time to cover the extra distance on my way to work because of the heat."

You've just gotta smile.

Being late. When someone was asked why they were late and said "I didnt have any food to eat because my wife woulnt cook or go shopping." (even though that person worked at a food place so could have gotten food straight away). Got fired for the lame excuse

Late. Didn't show up and was fired next day after two weeks. Said " I would  have come in if I knew you were going to fire me."  Go figure.................

A fellow work associate did not phone in, but turned up after lunch. When the boss asked "Why weren't you in this morning?'

the answer was in the form of a question, "Look boss, If you  were laying in bed and you had two women making breakfast for you, would you come to work?"...end of conversation.
