Boston Bruins Tuukka Rask amazes in Game 3 by shutting out Chicago Blackhawks 2-0 – NHL news
Fans were expecting a tough fight after both teams barely managed to escape in the previous two with Chicago winning in Game 1 after a triple overtime and Boston rebounding with a single OT win in Game 2.
Game 3 was unlike anything fans have seen so far in the 2013 National Hockey League (NHL) Stanley Cup Finals as the Boston Bruins played like they never did before, shutting out the Chicago Blackhawks, 2-0, at home and taking a 2-1 lead in the series
Obviously, the Bruins team is happy that they managed to play like this at home, and with Game 4 being at the TD Garden as well, Boston fans are finding it hard to sleep at night with all the anticipation.
Young goalie, Tuukka Rask, has become the new Tim Thomas for the club as he was handed down the responsibility with Thomas out of the scene. Ever since he got the chance to shine, Rask has amazed and continues to do so as he just may be on the verge of getting
Boston their second Stanley Cup championship since 2011.
“I think we're doing a good job coming back to the house and making teams work for their chances,” Bruins forward Chris Kelly said. “All year long we've really stressed being a good defensive team. Tuukka has been there when we had breakdowns. ... Obviously
there are aspects of the game you'd love to be a little bit better at, but on a whole I thought we played well. We moved our feet a little bit better than we did the last game, which opened up a little more for us.”
Rask blocked all 28 shots on his net while Corey Crawford of the Blackhawks was overpowered with 35 attempts. Daniel Paille and Patrice Bergeron scored two back-to-back goals in the second period for Boston. Securing the game and ultimately breaking that
tense tie between the two contestants.
Game 4 of the 2013 NHL Stanley Cup Finals is scheduled to be held again in Boston on Wednesday, 8 PM ET, at the TD Garden before heading to Chicago.
