Boston Bruins come up with an expected 4-2 win against the Ottawa Senators

Another one of the games of Friday was hosted by the Ottawa Senators as they played the Boston Bruins at the Scotiabank Arena. The Senators are last in the Eastern Conference and this game gave them a chance to play catch up as the Bruins are the third placed
team in the Conference.
Though the Senators scored the opening goal but the Bruins were able to make their way back into the game and scored four goals until the Senators scored once again. The Bruins resultantly won the game easily 4-2. Tuukka Rask, goal keeper of the Bruins was
named the star selection of the game for his heroics as he made 32 saves.
The Senators made a great start as they fired a shot on goal at the end of the very first play of the game. Things got better for the home team with the passage of time. There were several occasions where it looked as they would score. However, this didn’t
happen as they weren’t able to find the back of the net.
The quick passing and some splendid game play they displayed restricted the inform Bruins to almost nothing during the course of the period. Though the Bruins also had a few scoring chances too during the period but they were unable to capitalize from them.
The Senators won the period in terms of goal attempts but they too failed to find the back of the net.
The period ended with the teams’ level on scores at 0-0. During the 20 minutes of play, the Senators made 12 goal attempts while the Bruins were restricted to just 5 goal attempts.
The second period saw the Senators continuing from where they left off in the first period. However, this time they were able to score through Bobby Butter from a well placed flick shot to get into the lead in the 3rd minute.
The Senators kept on piling the pressure for a few minutes. The Bruins were successful in bouncing back and making shots on goal. They displayed some excellent ice hockey that saw them creating chances for themselves. Though the Senators was very strong
but still managed to work their way past them.
The Bruins scored in the 8th minute, scoring through Brad Marchand that levelled the scores. Both teams attacked after this which resulted in the puck going up and down the ice and shots flying from everywhere on the ice.
The period didn’t see any further goals as the period ended with the Bruins making 12 goal attempts while the Senators made 8 goal attempts. The scores where level on 1-1 as the teams went into the break with just 20 minutes of play left to play for.
Despite the teams being equal in terms of attacking and defending, the Bruins managed to edge out ahead of their competitors. The Bruins showed why they were among the top teams as they scored through Nathan Horton in the 10th minute to get into
the lead.
The Bruins kept on piling the pressure and while displaying some strong offensive skills, the Bruins scored two in the 16th minute. The goals were scored by Dennis Seidenberg and Brad Marchand respectively.
Though the Senators scored in the 19th minute through Alex Kovalev during power play but it was a little too late. The period and the game ended with the Bruins winning the game 4-2 in the end. The Bruins made 15 goal attempts in the final period
while the Senators made 14 goal attempts.
